Roman Nikolajewitsch Schirokow ( Russian Роман Николаевич Широков ; born July 6, 1981 in Dedovsk , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a former Russian football player .
Career
Shirokov first went through the U-19s, as well as the 2nd team of CSKA Moscow , until he was committed in 2001 by FK Moscow . In 2002 he moved to FK Istra. In 2004 he changed clubs twice, he left FK Istra, then he was briefly active at FK Vidnoe and finally he returned to FK Istra in the same year. He stayed there for a year before moving to Saturn Ramenskoe in 2005. Again after a year he moved to Rubin Kazan . During his time at this club he was loaned to his old club FK Istra. In 2007, Shirokov Rubin Kazan left again and was signed by FK Chimki . In 2008, Zenit signed the Russians in St. Petersburg . In the 2007/2008 UEFA Cup season , Shirokov and his club won the trophy in the final against Glasgow Rangers 2-0. After he is said to have had a dispute with the management of Zenit St. Petersburg, he was loaned to FK Krasnodar for the second half of the season. On July 18, 2014 it was announced that Schirokow would leave the club after 6 years for Spartak Moscow .
National team
At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Russian squad . In the first game of the tournament against England he was used in the final quarter of an hour as well as against Slovakia afterwards. He played the last game against Wales from the start. Then the team was eliminated from the tournament.
