The Diocese of Ozieri ( Latin : Dioecesis Octeriensis o Othierensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy , located in Sardinia . The bishopric is in the city of Ozieri .
It belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Sassari in the ecclesiastical region of Sardinia and is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Sassari .
history
The diocese was founded in the 13th century as Bisarchio (Latin: Dioecesis Bisarchiensis ) and dissolved on December 8, 1503. In 1804 it was re-established under its old name and renamed the Diocese of Ozieri on February 12, 1915.
