The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pescia ( lat. : Dioecesis Pisciensis , ital. : Diocese of Pescia ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Pescia .

history

On April 15, 1519 was territorial prelate Pescia by Pope Leo X built. The Territorial Prelature Pescia was on March 17, 1727 by Pope Benedict XIII. raised to the diocese and directly subordinate to the Holy See . The seminary of the diocese of Pescia was established in 1784.

On August 1, 1856, the diocese of Pescia was by Pope Pius IX. subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pisa as a suffragan with the Apostolic Constitution Ubi primum .
