history
The diocese of Pistoia was established in the 3rd century and directly subordinated to the Holy See . On May 10, 1419, the Diocese of Pistoia was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Florence as a suffragan . The Diocese of Pistoia was united with the Diocese of Prato from September 22, 1653 to January 25, 1954 Aeque principaliter . The seminary of the diocese of Pistoia was established in 1690.
