Fausto Tardelli (born January 5, 1951 in Lucca , Tuscany , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pistoia .

Life

Fausto Tardelli was a seminarist at the Almo Collegio Capranica and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1974 after studying Catholic theology and philosophy . He then acquired the licentiate in moral theology and in 1977 at the Pontifical Academy Alphonsian to Dr. theol. PhD . In 2001 he became canon of Lucca Cathedral , shortly thereafter Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Lucca .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of San Miniato in 2004 . The Archbishop of Lucca, Bruno Tommasi , donated him episcopal ordination ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Paolo Romeo , Apostolic Nuncio in Italy, and his predecessor, Bishop Edoardo Ricci .

On October 8, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Pistoia and until his inauguration in this diocese on December 8 of the same year as Apostolic Administrator in San Miniato.
