Drung Kashiwa Rinchen Pel ( Tib. Drung dka 'bzhi ba rin chen dpal * 1350 in the area of Gyarong (now Ngawa , Sichuan ); † 1435 ) an important representative was Jonang -School of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the founder of the monastery Chöje Gön ( chos rje dgon ) in Dzamthang ( 'dzam thang ; in Ngawa, Sichuan) in the east Tibetan region of Kham , one of the oldest Jonang monasteries.
He is said to have been a student of several famous Dölpopa students as well as the Sakya master Lama Changchub Sengge ( bla ma byang chub seng ge ; 1250 -?).
He went to study in Central Tibet in 1367 and returned to his homeland in 1379 to spread the Jonang doctrine; In 1408 he was awarded the title of hongjiao chanshi by the Yongle Emperor (Ming Chengzu) . In 1419 he traveled to the Ming Imperial Court in Beijing .
His successor was Gyelwa Sangpo ( rgyal ba bzang po ; 1419–1493), who is said to have founded over a hundred monasteries in the Dzamthang , Barkham and Ngawa area .
