Roberto Filippini (born June 6, 1948 in Vinci , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and Bishop of Pescia .

Life

Roberto Filippini received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Pisa on April 14, 1973 . After many years as a parish priest, he became dean of the interdiocesan theological college in Camaiore in 1996 . From 1999 to September 2015 Filippini was rector of the Santa Caterina Seminary in Pisa. He also worked as a prison chaplain and professor of fundamental theology .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Pescia on November 25, 2015. The Archbishop of Pisa , Giovanni Paolo Benotto , donated him episcopal ordination on January 3rd of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Great Britain, Archbishop Antonio Mennini , and the Bishop of Arezzo-Cortona-Sansepolcro , Riccardo Fontana . The inauguration in the diocese of Pescia took place on January 24, 2016.
