Antonio Mennini (born September 2, 1947 in Rome ) is an Italian clergyman, archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

The Archpriest of the Lateran Basilica and Cardinal Vicar , Ugo Poletti , ordained him on December 14, 1974 .

On July 8, 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed him titular archbishop pro hac vice of Ferentium and apostolic nuncio in Bulgaria . The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on 12 September of the same year; Co-consecrators were Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini and Jean-Louis Pierre Cardinal Tauran , President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue .

On November 6, 2002 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Russia . On July 26th, 2008 he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Uzbekistan . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 18, 2010 as Apostolic Nuncio in Great Britain . In this role, he was replaced by Edward Joseph Adams on April 9, 2017 .
