Erdoğan Karayel

Erdoğan Karayel (* 1956 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish cartoonist who also works in Germany.

Karayel publishes the German-Turkish satirical magazine Don Quichotte .

One of his caricatures was included in the textbook Seydlitz Geographiie / Gymnasium , which will be used in German schools from 2008, under the topic “Is Germany a country of immigration?”.

The artist completed a degree in "Graphic Design" at the Art Academy of Marmara University in Istanbul until 1976 .

The years between 1976 and 1982 were his creative times in the "caricature drawings" sector in various newspapers and magazines such as Çarşaf , Ses, Politika , Demokratie. The albums Renk-Leke-Cizgi, En Gurbettekiler, Bir Warmis Bir Yokmus, Hans and Hasan, Siyahbeyazofkelerim "emerged as caricature books based on these life experiences.

In his career, in which he harmonized caricature and commercial graphics , he won a total of 34 prizes in various national and international competitions, including the Japanese Citation Prize .

Karayel's works have also been exhibited outside Germany and Turkey .
