Clod of earth

Clod , regional and clod , plaice or Klute mentioned are clods of 10 to 50 cm in diameter, in agriculture on loam and clay arable soils , when the processing result in excessively moist or dry state with plow or cultivators occurs. Clods of earth must be crushed as part of the preparation of the seedbed in order to obtain capillary soil closure for the seeds . When harvesting root crops such as potatoes and beets , clods of earth are very cumbersome.
