The Erebus Glacier is an Antarctic glacier that flows west from the southern slopes of Mount Erebus on Ross Island to Erebus Bay , where it forms the Erebus Glacier tongue .
It is named after the glacier tongue and Mount Erebus, which are named after the ship HMS Erebus of the British polar explorer James Clark Ross (1800–1862).
