The Hermitage Amsterdam (Dutch Hermitage Amsterdam ) is a Dutch museum on the Amstel in Amsterdam . The museum is an offshoot of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg . It was opened on June 19, 2009 by Queen Beatrix and Russian President Medvedev . A small offshoot was opened in a building next to today's Hermitage in February 2004. This building is now the hermitage for children .
