Erendiz Atasu

Erendiz Atasü (* 1947 in Ankara ) is a Turkish writer .

Life

Atasü studied pharmacy at the university in her hometown and graduated with a doctorate. She then worked there until 1997 as a lecturer in pharmacognosy .

From 1981 she emerged as a narrator. In 1996 Erendiz Atasü was honored with the Orhan Kemal Prize , the most prestigious literary prize in Turkey, for her novel Dağın Öteki Yüzü . In 1997 she received the Yunus Nadi Prize and in 1998 the Haldun Taner Prize for the stories Taş Üstüne Gül Oyması . In addition to numerous translations into English, French and Dutch, a. a. the story volume Das Lied des Meeres translated into German.
