Erhard Ott

Erhard Ott (born March 4, 1953 in Schwienhusen , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German trade unionist. He was a member of the federal board of the United Services Union (ver.di) until 2014 and headed the Supply and Disposal Department (FB 2).

Career

After graduating from secondary school in 1968, he did an administrative apprenticeship at the Dithmarschen district until 1971 . Until 1972 he worked in the State Office for Electronic Data Processing at the State of Berlin . In 1972 he began training for the higher general administrative service in Berlin and worked for the State of Berlin until 1975. In 1975 he became a clerk in the State Administration Office and in the Senate Chancellery of the Governing Mayor of Berlin .

Union functions

From 1978 to 1987 Ott worked as a district youth secretary in the Berlin district administration of the Public Services, Transport and Traffic Union (ÖTV). In the district administration he worked until 1992 as managing director of the departments of state administrations, health insurance companies and labor administration. From 1992 to 1994 he was the district wage secretary. From 1994 to 2000 he coordinated the collective bargaining work in the ÖTV head office. In 2000 he was elected to the executive board of the ÖTV and was responsible for the areas of supply and disposal, finances and organization. With the establishment of the ver.di union in 2001, he became a member of the federal executive committee and federal department head of the supply and disposal department. At the federal congress of ver.di in October 2003 in Berlin he was confirmed in this office with 91.9 percent of the delegate votes. At the 2007 federal congress, he received 85.8 percent of the delegate's votes. In 2014 he resigned from the federal executive board.

Ott was a member of the European Economic and Social Committee .
