Erhard Schäfer (politician, 1937)

Erhard Schäfer (born March 26, 1937 in Vosswinkel ) is a German CDU local politician.

education and profession

After elementary school, Schäfer initially trained as a technical draftsman. He then studied mechanical engineering and electrical engineering and worked as a designer from 1958 to 1975. From 1975 to 1983 he was a manager in a machine factory. He then went into business for himself with a design engineering office and ran it until his retirement in 2009.

Erhard Schäfer is married and has four children. He lives in Holzen .

Politics and volunteering

Erhard Schäfer has been a member of the CDU since 1969. In 1972 he joined the Christian Democratic Workforce . From 1994 to 2009 he was a member of the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis and there from 2000 to 2009 deputy district administrator. From 1975 to 1985 he was a knowledgeable citizen in the city council of Arnsberg.

Schäfer has been a member of the Scottish partnership association "West Lothian-Hochsauerlandkreis" since 2001 and was its chairman from 2004 to 2013. He also held honorary positions in various local associations and institutions.

In 2018, Erhard Schäfer received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services in the area of ​​local politics.
