Erhard Schwandt (born April 18, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German author and retired teacher .

Life

Schwandt was the son of the banker Walther Schwandt and his wife Hildegard (née Koch). He attended the Humboldt-Gymnasium until 1961 and then studied Romance and German at the Philosophical Faculty of the Free University of Berlin . On July 15, 1968, he completed his studies with the work The poetic process in the late poetry of Yvan Golls - Investigations on Genesis and Poetics .

His fiction books are mainly about the profession of teacher with its strengths and weaknesses and the prejudices against him. While in his debut Eduard Sackmeyer: Nix für Banausen the life of a teacher is already subtly discussed, in teachers are lazy sacks there is an intensive examination of the joys and sorrows of this profession, which is expanded to include the subject of collective aging in German teachers' rooms in Spät Verblauung .
