Eric Krieger

Eric Krieger (born March 6, 1975 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian judoka . He finished 9th in the heavyweight division at the 1996 Summer Olympics .

biography

The tall fighter caused a sensation as early as 1994 when he reached third place at the World Cup tournament in Leonding . In the same year he also finished third at the Junior World Championships. The first Austrian championship title followed a year later, which was followed by 7 more. His main goal, a medal at the Olympic Games, he did not achieve due to an injury which he sustained during a preparatory tournament for the Games. He was able to start and achieved the best placement of an Austrian judoka with rank 9. In the next few years he started in other tournaments, but he placed more emphasis on his professional career and completed his training as a physiotherapist and osteopath .
