Erich Cuntz

Erich Cuntz (born December 23, 1916 - † June 1, 1975 ) was a German hockey player .

Erich Cuntz from TSV Sachsenhausen 1857 won the German championship with his club in 1939 and 1943 . In the years before and during the Second World War , the Frankfurters around Karl Dröse , Hermann Auf der Heide and Erich Cuntz reached the final of the German championship a total of six times.

Cuntz made his debut in 1935 in the German national hockey team . At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the striker was only used in the game against Afghanistan, in which he contributed two goals to the 4-1 victory. The German team only lost in the final against the then unbeatable Indian hockey team and won the silver medal. Erich Cuntz played a total of eleven international matches from 1935 to 1939.
