Erich Deppermann

Erich Deppermann (born June 30, 1902 in Bielefeld , † August 17, 1963 in Brackwede ) was a German politician (SPD).

Life

After elementary school, Deppermann worked as a lathe operator until 1925. He was then a music dealer and radio mechanic until 1935. From 1920 he belonged to the SPD and until 1933 was a member of the board of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold and a member of the board of the socialist youth workers for East Westphalia and Lippe . Due to his political activities he was imprisoned in the concentration camps Esterwegen and Sachsenhausen in 1936 and 1937 . After his release, Deppermann worked as a lathe operator in an iron foundry. Immediately after the end of the war he worked in the employment office and became politically active again. Deppermann had been a councilor in Gadderbaum (now a district of Bielefeld) since 1945 . He was also a member of the Bielefeld-Land district council . In 1946 he was a member of the appointed provincial parliament for Westphalia . In the same year he became a member of the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . As an elected MP, Deppermann was a member of the state parliament from the first (1947) to the fifth election period (1963). Until 1950 he was deputy and then until 1962 chairman of the refugee committee. In addition, from 1961 to 1963 he was district administrator of the Bielefeld district.
