Erich Krauss

Erich Krauss (* 1940 in Hanover ) is a German sports official. He is a board member of the German Hiking Association . From the end of 1982 until its dissolution in 1990, he was President of the German Association for Hiking, Mountaineering and Orienteering (DWBO) in the GDR.

Life

Erich Krauß is a certified sports teacher and certified social scientist. He received his doctorate and was director of the central school of the DTSB of the GDR "Artur Becker" in Bad Blankenburg .

Erich Krauss joined the German Gymnastics and Sports Association in 1954 at the age of 14. He was a member of the DWBO from 1960 until its dissolution in 1990. During his university studies at DHfK, one of them took part in a special training course in the tourism department. At that time he was active as an orienteer and sport climber in his spare time.

From 1970 he was a member of the Presidium of the DWBO, and in 1974 he was appointed Vice President. In 1978 he resigned from this position due to his studies and professional changes and resigned from the executive committee.

In 1981 he became a member of the federal executive committee of the DTSB. After Rolf Schille's departure, he was co-opted into the Presidium of the DWBO of the GDR on October 16, 1982 and at the same time elected President.

He was a member of the SED and the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Schwarza.

After the DWBO was triggered in 1990, he was one of the co-founders of the Thuringian Mountain and Hiking Association. V. , of which he is honorary president today. Later, Erich Krauss became a board member of the German Hiking Association as an assessor.
