Erich Liese

Erich Liese (born December 26, 1910 in Opladen ; † August 26, 2010 in Leverkusen ) was a German radiologist .

Life

After his license to practice medicine in Cologne in 1937, he received his doctorate in the field of radiology in 1939 . After specializing in the field of radiology, he became senior physician at the University Clinic in Cologne and head of the X-ray department at the University Clinic from 1945 to 1964. He received a lectureship in radiology and then became chief physician at the Heilig Geist Hospital in Cologne. In 1975 his own institute for radiology and nuclear medicine was founded - at the same time he was head of the radiology department at the nuclear research facility in Jülich .

Liese had been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1931. Rhineland Cologne.

research

Liese was a co-founder of the Marburger Bund and first regional chairman of the Marburger Bund for North Rhine-Westphalia. He was also the author of numerous specialist scientific papers. Liese improved and developed radiological examination methods. The method of electromagnetic locking in X-ray machines is largely due to him. Outside of medicine, he developed methods for the X-ray material testing of car tires.

Honors

Liese had been the honorary ring holder of the city of Leverkusen for his services as councilor since 1973.
