Erich Ochs

Erich Ochs (born June 7, 1883 in Wismar ; † November 8, 1951 in Berlin ) was a German university professor and conductor.

Ochs was born as the son of court conductor Traugott Ochs (October 19, 1854 - August 27, 1919) and Hedwig Schladitz in Wismar. He attended the university in Berlin and was later from 1907 to 1908 Kapellmeister at the Elberfeld City Theater . After that he was second Kapellmeister and choir conductor at the City Theater in Poznan until 1910. In the following years several concert tours took him to South America, among others, he was in Argentina between 1914 and 1915, later he also played in Sweden. From 1918 to 1919 he was second conductor at the Schauburg in Ghent.
