Erich Schneider (soccer player)

Erich Schneider (born November 6, 1952 in Feldbach ) is an Austrian manager and soccer player .

After graduating from the commercial academy and studying business administration, Schneider worked for the Schuhkönig shoe retail chain in Graz for 25 years , including 15 years as commercial director. He was then a member of the board of directors at the Styrian stainless steel manufacturer Breitenfeld AG for 14 years.

He started as a football player in Feldbach, from where he was signed by the Grazer AK in 1975 as a national league player. There he played in the top Austrian league for four years during his studies from 1975 to 1979. He ended his active career in 1984 with Eggenberger SK in the Styrian regional league.

Since 1991 Schneider has been involved with Club Steiermark, an association of former footballers for charitable purposes.

Schneider is married to a doctor and has one grown daughter.
