Ronny Schalk (* 1979 ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

Ronny Schalk first studied media and communication science at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . He then completed his scriptwriting studies at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg . Ronny Schalk has been working as a freelance writer since 2008. He first received more attention from the film We wanted to go to the sea , the screenplay of which he was in charge of writing. 2016-2018 he wrote in the Writers' Room of Jantje Friese ( show runner ) in the first German Netflix series Dark (Season 1 and 2) in addition to the authors Marc O. Seng and Martin Behnke. In addition to other awards, the first season of Dark 2018 was honored with the Grimme Prize for best screenplay. Since 2018, Ronny Schalk has worked as head author of the Oktoberfest - 1900 series .
