Erich Seyfried

Erich Seyfried (* 1940 ) is a Bavarian folk actor who largely retired from the stage in 2005. Mostly he played the mentally slightly retarded servant or the husband troubled by his wife, but also portrayed other characters.

Seyfried has been on the stages of various theaters since he was 17.

When Peter Steiner founded his Theaterstadl in 1983, Erich Seyfried was there from the start. There and in the series Zum Stanglwirt in 36 episodes, he gained nationwide fame. From mid-1986 to the beginning of 1998, the talented actor was in 77 different plays and 106 broadcast episodes of Theaterstadl. He had his most colorful appearance as the kohlrabi apostle in the play of the same name from 1991 and 1999 in the Komödienstadl in Der Leberkäsbaron from Postbote

In 1998 he, Rudi Decker , Barbara Kutzer and he (all three were members of Peter Steiner's Theaterstadl) decided to start their own business. They founded the Volkstheater 's Bavarian Podium , in which Erich Seyfried's son Fredi Seyfried also participates. While Barbara Kutzer and Rudi Decker organized everything, Erich Seyfried wrote the plays that were performed.

At the age of 65, Seyfried decided to go private in 2005, so that today he is only occasionally available for guest appearances. He last appeared on stage in November / December 2007, together with Winfried Frey , at the 100th anniversary of the Hollenbacher Bauerntheater. The piece listed was called Hot Stones .
