occupation

Zum Stanglwirt is a German television series that was produced from 1993 to 1995 and broadcast on RTL . The book is by Ulla Kling . It was staged by Peter Steiner in the form of a sitcom in the German tradition of comedy .

background

After the commercial success of the Theaterstadl , the Bayerisches Volkstheater was established as a program format. RTL was looking for a sequel because the end of the repertoire was foreseeable and new pieces could not be produced in the short time required.

The most successful role stereotypes of the Theaterstadl plays (Peter Steiner Sen. as a would-be patriarch, Gerda Steiner as a stupid assistant, etc.) were therefore in the broadcast format of the sitcom (episodes less than 30 minutes net playing time), compact topics combined with longer story threads, solid Ensemble with guest appearances, live audience taken over. The film was shot exclusively in a fixed studio setting, which, however, comprised several rooms (dining room, eat-in kitchen, corridor, butcher's shop, beer garden).

action

At Zum Stanglwirt , turbulent episodes from the life of the extended Stangl family can be seen. The family runs the “Zum Stanglwirt” restaurant in Bavaria, as well as an attached butcher's shop. That is why the Stangls estate is a magnet for men as well as women who exchange the latest gossip news there. Since the Stangls are very well known in the village, they are confronted with all sorts of problems of the villagers and are often involved in these problems.
