Ulla Kock am Brink (* 10. July 1961 as Ursula Eva Maria Kock am Brink in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German television presenter .

biography

Kock am Brink grew up next to two brothers and a sister as the third of four children of an orthopedic surgeon and a housewife in Bottrop , where she graduated from high school in 1981. She wrote volleyball reports for the local edition of WAZ , but did not trust herself to be a journalist and began studying to become a teacher in Bonn . From 1981 to 1984 she studied social science , German and Spanish , from 1984 special education in Cologne without a degree. During her studies, she worked part-time on various WDR programs and was discovered for television by Jürgen von der Lippe , Rudi Carrell and John de Mol .

From 1989 to 2001, Kock am Brink presented various game shows and other television programs , including Verzeih mir ( RTL , 1992–1993), Glücksritter (RTL, 1996–1997), The 100,000 Mark Show (RTL, 1993–1998), the Lotto Show ( Das Erste , 1998–2001), the gala Ein Herz für Kinder (Das Erste) and the award of the German TV Prize . Their attempt to establish a kind of daily late-night talk on ProSieben with the Ulla Kock am Brink Show failed after only two months because the audience ratings were too low . In 2000, Kock am Brink switched to ZDF and presented the format Ca $ h , which was taken over from America . From 2004, Kock am Brink and Jörg Thadeusz presented the talk show People on Thursday on the rbb television program . The show was discontinued in March 2005 due to persistently poor audience ratings.

She turned down a two-time offer from Playboy to nude photos.

From 2010 to 2012, Kock am Brink hosted three seasons of the game show The Perfect Minute on Sat.1 . She also presented the family show Der Bastelkönig on Sat.1 in 2011 and the documentary series The Big World of Little People in 2012 .

Private life

Kock am Brink made headlines when she started a relationship with the television producer Theo Baltz, husband of Sabine Christiansen , who eventually separated from Christiansen. The two married in 2003 and remained a couple until it became known in March 2010 that the marriage had failed. On February 5, 2014, a message from Bunten announced that Kock am Brink had separated from her boyfriend Lutz Fahrenkrog-Petersen . In 2019 she married the lawyer Peter Fissenewert on Sylt . Kock am Brink lives in Berlin.
