Forgive me was a German real-life documentary series that was broadcast on the private broadcaster RTL .

After the first episode, the show was parodied on December 21, 1992 on Kalkofes TV screen .

After the cancellation in 1994 there were three attempts to remake: From 1998 to 1999 under the title Verzeih mir on Sat.1 and from 2011 to 2012 again on RTL and in 2016 with Julia Leischik on Sat.1.

concept

The presenter is looking for people on behalf of relatives who have not been seen for years. When the presenter has got enough information about the missing person, she goes on a search. The moderator's mission is to bring people who have fallen out again together. In contrast to the first two seasons in the 90s, the reconciliations do not take place in a studio in front of a live audience, but in the tried and tested docu-soap style on site.

Production and broadcast

In the 1990s, the show was hosted by Ulla Kock am Brink . Five years later, in December 1998, Sat.1 started a much more stringent new edition. The show was also called forgive me and was moderated by Sonja Zietlow . In 2010 episodes were produced again and broadcast from January 2011, the moderation was taken over by the Missing presenter Julia Leischik . The quotas of these episodes were above the station average, but Leischik switched to Sat.1 at the beginning of the 2011/2012 season. Therefore Vera Int-Veen took over the moderation of the planned second season of the new edition. This was broadcast from November 13, 2011 to January 8, 2012. The broadcast time was 7:05 p.m. on Sundays.

Audience ratings

Except for one issue, all programs with Julia Leischik were above the channel average. On average, 5.01 million viewers saw the third season of Verzeih mir on RTL and achieved a market share of 15.6 percent among the total audience. In the target group, an average of 2.25 million viewers watched, corresponding to a market share of 18.3 percent.

The season with Vera Int-Veen was below the channel average; thus the program was canceled.
