The Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API or LADSPA is a free interface for audio effects and filters under Linux . LADSPA plugins process audio signals and are used for effects such as reverb, chorus or delay . The DSSI interface used for virtual instruments is based on the LADSPA specification. LADSPA replaces proprietary systems such as Steinberg's VST under Linux.

The successor is the LADSPA-based interface LV2 .
