Peter Steiner

Peter Steiner (born September 6, 1927 in Munich ; † December 22, 2008 there ) was a German folk actor .
Life
Career
Peter Steiner grew up in a Munich artist family. His ancestors were Hungarians ; the father, a merchant, played and sang Hungarian folk tunes, his mother was an actress.
Peter Steiner began his career after the Second World War . During the war he was assigned to the front theater . After the end of the war, he completed his training at the renowned Otto Falckenberg School in Munich with distinction. Originally, at the request of his parents, he learned to be an electrician. He then made his way as a waiter and cook and after work worked as a director in the Volkstheater Markenzeller , where Erni Singerl and Weiß Ferdl celebrated their first successes.
In 1943 he was hired for the Residenztheater , and since 1950 he has been part of the ensemble of the popular Munich Volksbühne Platzl . There he appeared next to Weiß Ferdl, Michl Lang and Erni Singerl.
Peter Steiner first came into contact with television in the early 1960s. From then on, he appeared in many television productions (including comedy nobility and the Royal Bavarian District Court ). At the beginning of the 1970s, Peter Steiner played in the erotic film series Liebesgrüße aus der Lederhose .
In 1983 Peter Steiner and his second wife opened “ Peter Steiner's Theaterstadl ” in Munich- Giesing , with which he quickly gained nationwide popularity. This “Theater-Stadl” was located in the restaurant “ Zur Friendship” , which was run by Peter Steiner, his wife and his daughter Gerda. In 1985 Peter Steiner's daughter Gerda, who had been on stage with her father since she was 15 and with whom he recorded several albums, took over the business management. From 1993 to 1997 the entire ensemble of the Stadl was seen in the television series Zum Stanglwirt .
In 1998 the head office of "Peter Steiners Theaterstadl" in Munich was closed. Since then the ensemble with constantly changing program of extensive tours through Germany , Austria and Switzerland go. The pieces are primarily designed for light entertainment and mostly play in the rural environment of Upper Bavaria . Over 100 pieces have been recorded for television since 1990, the most famous of which are Die Lügenglocke and Be net so stupid, Grandpa . In the course of his theater career, he wrote several pieces himself, as well as the lyrics to music productions published on record or CD.
Private
In 1953 Steiner's daughter Gerda Steiner was born, whom he had together with his first wife Gerda Steiner-Paltzer , in 1960 their son Peter Steiner junior was born. In 1965 Steiner married his second wife Rosemarie, called Sissi , with whom he later had two daughters. With his stage partner Marita Schlemmer, who is 23 years his junior, he has their illegitimate daughter Martina, who was born in 1968.
Steiner died on December 22, 2008 at the age of 81 from the effects of a heart attack that he had suffered in his home in Munich. On January 16, 2009 Peter Steiner was buried in the old part of the Munich-Riem cemetery. His urn grave is in row 16.
