Erich Streicher (politician)

Erich Streicher (born March 1, 1907 in Nischwitz ; † not known) was a German blacksmith and member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

After attending elementary school, he learned the trade of a blacksmith and worked in the profession. In 1925 he became a member of the metal workers' association .

After the war he became a member of the FDGB and the SED in 1946 . He worked as BGL chairman in a craft business in Mannichswalde , was a community representative in Crimmitschau and a member of the Werdau district council . From 1954 to 1958 he was a member of the SED parliamentary group and a member of the People's Chamber.

On October 5, 1954, he took part in an election rally in Crimmitschau, where the top candidate for the People's Chamber, Karl Schirdewan, presented himself . The newspaper of the Central Committee of the SED Neues Deutschland wrote about it on October 6, 1954: On behalf of all Crimmitschau private and craft businesses, colleague Erich Streicher handed over to Comrade Schirdewan the electoral mandate, all forces to realize the basic demands of the German people, to create the democratic unity of ours Fatherland. The workers themselves promised to make every effort to realize the new course, especially in the production of mass consumer goods.
