Erich Zettl
Erich Zettl (born December 30, 1934 in Bernau , Czechoslovakia ) is a German university professor , Germanist , linguist and author .
Life
Erich Zettl was born in Bernau near Neudek in the Ore Mountains . From 1954 to 1959 he studied German, English and history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. In 1963 he received his doctorate in German studies as a Dr. phil. From 1961 to 1965 he was assistant and lecturer at the University of Hull in Great Britain and from 1966 to 1970 lecturer at the Goethe Institute in Milan. From 1971 until his retirement in 1997 he was professor for technical English and German, as well as head of languages at the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences. From 1997 to 2009 he was a lecturer in Chinese at the University of Konstanz. He has received several teaching assignments for German at universities and high schools in Shanghai, Wuhan, Tianjin and Suzhou.
