history

At the end of the 16th century the property fell to the Schlicks. In 1602 Count Stephan Schlick sold the rule to his cousin Friedrich Colonna von Fels . At that time, Bernau did not yet exist. In 1620 the place was first mentioned in the church records.

In 1651, Bernau was listed as a village with 89 inhabitants who were still completely unconverted. The judge's office was held by Johannes Reitzner. The men’s profession are cottagers, woodcutters and thresher. After the tax roll of 1654, the residents lived on livestock farming and logging. In addition to the mining of tin in several tin soaps , agriculture was carried out here, as well as in the high fir at 765  m nm .

In 1847 the village had 142 houses with 1071 inhabitants, 1 community school and 1 tavern. Bernau was later an independent cadastral community . Ecclesiastically Bernau was parish to the parish church of St. Martin in Neudek. Until the abolition of patrimonial jurisdiction in 1848/49, Bernau belonged to the Neudek rule , from 1850 to the judicial district of Neudek and since the territorial reform in 1869 to the Graslitz district . In 1910 Bernau was added to the spun-off Neudek district and in 1919 part of the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
