Fojtov (German Voigtsgrün ) is a district of the municipality Nejdek ( Neudek ) in the Karlsbad district in the Czech Republic .

geography

The district is located about 5 km southeast of Nejdek in the Bohemian Ore Mountains .

history

The first mention of Voigtsgrün as a property of the Tepler Probsteigut Lichtenstadt comes from the year 1273. The inhabitants lived mainly from cattle breeding. Quartz, basalt and granite were also mined in the nearby quarry.

In 1562 the place was populated by about 20 farmers. The list of souls of the Elbogen district from 1651 mentions Voigtsgrün with about 20 families. The men are Catholic and the women and children are still largely unconverted. The judge's office at that time was Matheus Starck. In 1847 the village had 51 houses with 365 inhabitants. Until the abolition of patrimonial jurisdiction in 1848/49 Voigtsgrün belonged to the Neudek rule . Voigtsgrün was parish first to Lichtenstadt and from 1784 to Tüppelsgrün.

In 1850 Voigtsgrün was part of the Neudek judicial district and, since the regional reform in 1869, of the Graslitz district . In 1910 it was added to the outsourced Neudek district. In the course of the annexation of the Sudetenland , Voigtsgrün belonged to the Neudek district between 1938 and 1945 . After the end of the Second World War Fojtov was assigned to the Okres Karlovy Vary . At that time, a large part of the German population was expelled . Fojtov is now part of Nejdek.
