Erik Lorenz (* 1988 in Berlin ) is a German author , editor and presenter .

Life

Erik Lorenz studied International Marketing and Business & Management in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Great Britain, lived in Australia for a year and a half and traveled for several months a. a. through Southeast Asia. He combines his passion for traveling and writing with the publication of travel and country books such as "Laos Reading Tour - The Waning of Silver Threads" and "Through the Heart of England - Step by Step from Coast to Coast". Together with Thomas Bauer , he is the editor of the country series “As we see it”, in which the volumes China , France , Australia and Indiawere published. In 2017 be.bra Verlag published the book "Fontanes Schlösser - Old and New Stories from the Mark Brandenburg", which Erik Lorenz wrote together with Robert Rauh .

In May 2017 Erik Lorenz founded Weltwach, an online magazine for adventure and travel topics. In the accompanying Weltwach podcast moderated by him, he discusses their expeditions, their books and their worldview with prominent adventurers and authors such as Reinhold Messner , Rüdiger Nehberg and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner . In 2020 he published the book "Adventure in the luggage" with the "best" from the Weltwach podcast on National Geographic. Also in 2020 he started the English-language branch of the Weltwach podcast, Unfolding Maps. The first guests were photographer Steve McCurry and circumnavigator Laura Dekker .

He has also been moderating live travel reports for the operator Grenzgang since 2018.
