Erik Schneider (born March 26, 1967 ) is a German designer and professor for industrial design and construction at the Technical University of Ingolstadt . He works in the field of innovation, design thinking and creative processes.

Life

Schneider studied mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and graduated in 1995 with a degree in mechanical engineering. This was followed by a second degree in industrial design at Pforzheim University, which he completed as a designer in 1999. After completing his studies, he joined Daimler AG in 1998 . There he first worked in Research & Development “Advanced Concepts”.

In 2001 Schneider moved to the innovation workshop of Daimler AG . There he actively worked on methodology, moderation, the search for ideas and the development of strategies with a focus on the automotive industry.

Schneider has been a teacher at Pforzheim University since 2014 and supervises projects in the bachelor's degree "Industrial Design". Furthermore, he supervised the “Innovative Integrated Product” project in the “Creative Direction” master’s course.

From 2007 to 2016 Schneider worked as an independent consultant, under the name of his sole proprietorship A81. He advised companies in innovation and creative processes and accompanied the process implementation.

Schneider has been a professor at the Technical University of Ingolstadt (THI) since April 2016.

Schneider is also a managing partner at Martin Management GmbH, a Swiss management consultancy specializing in innovation management.

Schneider is a keynote speaker in the areas of innovation, digital transformation and creative processes such as design thinking . He lectures at innovation conferences.
