Erik Swyngedouw
Erik A. Swyngedouw (born July 30, 1956 ) is a Belgian geographer . He is Professor of Geography at the University of Manchester in Manchester . In his research, he deals, among other things, with the reconfiguration of political and social control units in the course of glocalization as well as with spatial and urban development processes in political and ecological terms. In 2015 he was elected to the Academia Europaea . The University of Malmö awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2018.
