Erika Vázquez
Erika Vázquez Morales , often referred to as Erika for short , (born February 16, 1983 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish soccer player . She took part in the 2013 European Championship with the Spanish national team.
Athletic career
Erika started playing football at SD Lagunak , for which she also took her first steps in adulthood. In 2004 she moved to the reigning Spanish champions Athletic Bilbao , where she won her first championship the following year on the one hand and became a national player on the other. In 2007 she won the championship again with the team. In 2010 Erika moved to Espanyol Barcelona within the Superliga Femenina , but returned after just one season.
After the national team had qualified for a final tournament for the first time since 1997, national coach Ignacio Quereda appointed Erika to his 23-player squad for the final in summer 2013. As a substitute, she made three appearances in the course of the tournament, but could not prevent her elimination in the quarter-finals against future finalists Norway .
