Commemorative badge "25 years of the People's Police"

The commemorative badge "25 Years of the People's Police" was an anniversary award of the Ministry of the Interior of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in one step on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the People's Police on July 1, 1970. Consisting of plastic -made medal is round, held silver gray and displays within the inscription: FOR THE PROTECTION OF WORKERS AND FARMERS-POWER a police star with a central emblem of the GDR. The medal was only worn on the anniversary on a rectangular clasp on which the years 1945-1970 can be read on a green grained background . 1945 because the MdI had also recognized the service times of VP members in the Soviet zone of occupation. One of the first awards was made to the Minister for State Security Erich Mielke on January 16, 1970.
