Commemorative badge "40 years of the People's Police"

The commemorative badge "40 Years of the People's Police" was an anniversary award of the Ministry of the Interior of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in one step on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the People's Police on July 1, 1985. The medal shows within a green lettering ring in gold letters 40 YEARS OF GERMAN PEOPLE POLICE (above) IN THE SERVICE OF THE PEOPLE (below) the golden medallion in the middle with the face of two portraits of people looking to the left, the one in front being a member of the VP in uniform. The person behind it symbolizes the people or a volunteer of the People's Police . The medal was only worn on the anniversary on a pentagonal clasp on which the golden year 40 can be read on a green background within two flanking golden laurel branches.
