Commemorative medal 1870/71 (Oldenburg)

The commemorative medal 1870/71 was donated on May 5, 1871 by Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter von Oldenburg for the civilian staff of his staff in memory of their stay in his headquarters during the Franco-German War .

The silver medal shows the image of the founder. All around NICOL. FRIEDR. PETER GROSSHEZOG V. OLDENBURG . On the reverse two crossed laurel branches and above them the year 1870/71 .

The ribbon is ponceau red with two dark blue side and two yellow edge stripes.

The award was worn on the ribbon on the left chest.
