Commemorative medal for the 50th military anniversary

The commemorative medal for the 50th anniversary of the military was donated by King Ernst August von Hannover on March 17, 1840 on the occasion of his anniversary.

Were awarded officers , non-commissioned officers and men who, like him celebrated this anniversary on the same day.

The silver round medal shows the head of the founder, turned to the left, with the inscription ERNST AUGUST KÖNIG VON HANNOVER 1837 . On the reverse, within a laurel wreath tied together at the bottom, the two-line inscription March 17, 1790 March 17, 1840 .

The award was worn on a black, yellow and white ribbon on the left chest.
