Erma Bombeck

Erma Louise Bombeck (born February 21, 1927 - April 22, 1996 ), née Erma Fiste , was an American writer who achieved great popularity in the second half of the 20th century through her humorous books and newspaper columns .

Bombeck had three children himself and at the age of 37 began to write about the ups and downs in the life of a housewife and mother. From 1965 to her death in 1996, more than four thousand of her columns were published in around 800 daily newspapers; she wrote her last column six days before her death.

Bombeck was diagnosed with a cystic kidney disease (Polycystic Kidney Disease) . On April 3, 1996, she was given a kidney transplant in a hospital in San Francisco . After complications, she died on April 22nd. Bombeck was buried in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton , Ohio .
