Ernest Day

Ernest Day (born April 15, 1927 in Mortlake , † November 16, 2006 in London ) was an English cameraman.

Life

Ernest Day came to film as a teenager and worked as a camera assistant, later as a member of the camera crew. He worked with Lawrence of Arabia , among others . In 1971 he was employed for the first time as the responsible head cameraman and has since been mainly involved in productions in the USA. A few directorial works at the beginning of the 1980s were of little importance. In 1981 he shot The Condor Plot , an adventure film.

Day was nominated for an Oscar in 1985 and a BAFTA Film Award in 1986 for his work on Journey to India .
