Ernesto Cortázar Jr. (* 1940 in Mexico City , † 2004 in Mexico ) was a Mexican classical composer and pianist.

Ernesto Cortázar Jr. was the son of the Mexican composer, writer, actor, director and film producer Ernesto Cortázar Sr. He began his career at the age of 18 composing background music for the film La Risa de la Ciudad. After that he composed the background music for more than 75 films. He visited more than 25 countries, especially Central Europe, with his ideas. Having moved to Los Angelos, Cortázar returned to Mexico in 2001 to be close to his family in Tampico , where he died of cancer in 2004.
