Ernesto Epstein

Ernesto Epstein (born October 25, 1910 in Buenos Aires , † January 1997 ibid) was an Argentine pianist, music teacher and writer.

Epstein grew up in Germany and studied musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Since 1941, he gave lectures at the Colegio Libre de Estudios Superiores , from 1954 he was a member of the Instituto de Arte Julio Payró , and since 1966 he has taught at the University of Buenos Aires , where in 1986 he attended the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras founded the Department of Music . He founded the Collegium Musicum in 1946 with Erwin Leuchter , Teodoro Fuchs , Guillermo Graetzer and Ljerko Spiller . In 1989 he received the Premio Konex de Platino and the Diploma al Mérito from the Brazilian cultural foundation Fundación Konex. In 1995 he published his memoirs ( Memorias Musicales ).
