Teodoro Fox

Teodoro Fuchs (first name also Theodoro or Theodor , born March 15, 1908 in Chemnitz ; died October 28, 1969 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine conductor and music teacher.

Life

The son of the rabbi and historian Hugo Chanoch Fuchs studied with Clemens Krauss in Vienna . He then worked as a conductor at the Vienna Opera . In 1933 he emigrated to Turkey with his family . In 1937 he went to Argentina , where he was director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba until 1957 .

Then he moved to Buenos Aires. Here he directed the Orquesta de Radio Nacional , which was named after him after his death, and worked as a choir director and teacher at the city's music academy. His students included Carlos Roqué Alsina , Mario Davidovsky , Rodolfo Arizaga , César Franchisena , Waldo de los Rios , Juan Carlos Zorzi and Vicente Moncho .
