César Franchisena

César Franchisena (* 1923 in General Pinedo , Chaco , † 1992 in Córdoba (Argentina) ) was an Argentine composer and music teacher.

Franchesina studied composition with Teodoro Fuchs in Córdoba . From 1957 he taught composition at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba . He was the founder and head of the regional organization of the Agrupación Nueva Música , an association of composers and musicians for contemporary music.

Since the late 1950s, he has been experimenting with electroacoustic music at the University's Radio Universidad and the Centro de Investigaciones Acústicas y Luminotécnicas . His students included the composers Horacio Vaggione , Vicente Moncho , Pedro Palacios , Jose Halac and Gerardo Dirié .
