Ernst Albrecht (born November 10, 1910 in Gelnhausen , † 1977 in Wetzlar ) was a German graphic artist .

Life

After graduating from high school, he worked as a printing trainee and scientific draftsman at the University of Gießen with the intention of becoming a scientific draftsman for anatomy and also devoting himself graphically to prehistory and early history. From autumn 1933 he studied eight semesters at the State University of Fine Arts - Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main . He then worked as a freelance graphic artist in Wetzlar in the "Ernst Albrecht graphic studio". He was married to Margarete Luise Albrecht, née Münscher († November 7, 1995 in Worms ).

Create

His main means of expression, besides lithography , were watercolor and woodcut . He has also created many works in the scraping technique. His subjects ranged from illustrations and highly qualified factual representations to the creation of documents, advertising for tourism in the Hessian region, depictions of cities and posters. Authorities, agencies, branded goods companies such as Leica Camera in Wetzlar and well-known publishers such as B. the Freiburg house Herder on.
