Ernst Eschmann

Ernst Eschmann (born January 25, 1886 in Richterswil , † September 29, 1953 in Zurich ) was a Swiss writer .

Live and act

Eschmann studied German language and literature at the University of Zurich and in 1910 submitted a doctoral thesis on David Hess . From 1915 to 1935 he taught at the daughter school in Zurich. In addition to children's books and short stories for young people, he also wrote novels ( Vorfrühling , 1915) and dialect poems and plays ( De Gizchrage , 1919; D'Revoluzzer , 1922). In addition, from 1915 he was editor of the yearbook for the youngsters New Year's Eve and from 1928 of the domestic stove . In 1936 he became president of the Zurich section of the good writings . He was related to the musicians Johann Karl Eschmann and Carl Eschmann-Dumur .

He found his final resting place in the Rehalp cemetery .
